Twelve art venues throughout Dallas are pleased to announce Glass 2012 Part I: MASTER GLASS created in honor of the upcoming May 5th to November 5th “Chihuly at the Dallas Arboretum” presenting the famed artists’ works in a garden for the first time in this five-state region.
Glass 2012 Part I, II, and III celebrates glass in its many forms by artists from the Dallas area and elsewhere in the U.S. It is a unique opportunity to share with glass enthusiasts, collectors, and the public the wide diversity of current glass making efforts and expressions in glass.
Part I: MASTER GLASS will begin at each participating venue on Saturday, May 5th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Many of the artists will be in attendance. These special exhibitions – spotlights on glass – will be on display through Saturday, June 9th, 2012.
Dale Chihuly’s dramatic glass sculptures will be on display from May 5 to November 5, 2012 throughout the 66-acre Dallas Arboretum at WhiteRockLake. The artist will be here for a preview fund-raising Gala on Friday, May 4th and the public opening on Sat., May 5th.

Part II: Master Glass Invitational is an exhibition showcasing more than 30 nationally known glass artists and emerging talents from the region. The exhibition features many of the artists included in Part I. Each artist from Part I invited two colleagues working in glass to be included in the invitational. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 16, from 6 – 9 pm. The invitational will continue through July 15.
