Roger Winter and the line, a film produced by Quin Mathews Films, will be screened Wednesday, September 26 at 7:00pm.
The MAC welcomes MAC PAC (Professionals and Artists Collective) members and above to join us at 6:00pm before the film screening for a wine reception and discussion with the director of the film. Complimentary wine will be provided. Quin Mathews, director of Roger Winter and the line, will speak about the documentary project at 6:15pm.
Roger Winter is an artist and teacher, excelling in both without slighting either one. During his 26 years at SMU, he was teacher and mentor to some of the great painters who came out of Dallas: John Alexander, David Bates, Brian Cobble and Lilian Garcia-Roig, among many others.
From his studios in New York and Santa Fe, Roger Winter reflects on his art and that of his protégés. They talk about what makes him special—and to quote John Alexander, “a genius. ”
