Art Talk at The MAC! March 9, 5:30pm; Check out Categorical Modalities directly after at Ro2 Art Downtown.

Projecting digital video and light onto ceramic forms, the Pennsylvania based artists offer a reexamination of traditional media and a restructuring of gallery usage. Erecting several walls and blacking out windows, the installation engages interior/exterior dynamics, requiring audience members to disrupt lighting patterns and projections as they navigate the re-situated space.

Incidental Transformations allows Thomas and Shumway to embrace disparate media (ceramic and video) as compatible when exploring the ambiguous space between image and form. Projecting video morphing between architecture, nature, and the interior body onto ceramic Klein bottles, referencing infinity, the artist diffuse distinctions in favor of possibility. The multi-disciplinary installation will also feature a series of ceramic domes generating user interactive shadows, videos, and digital prints within the reconstructed space.
